APPLICATION
Take care in choosing the correct vinyl to suit
the contours of the panel. Using the right vinyl
for the job will speed up the application time
considerably. Different brands can also have
an impact on install time too. Do your research
beforehand and test material from different
manufacturers until you find the best one for
you.
The optimum temperature for vehicle graphic application
is between 18 and 23 degrees Celsius.
Make sure your vehicle is clean and dust-free before
starting.
For wraps and PPF we recommend that you cover the
wheels to prevent contamination on your vinyls (check
out our OxyTools Maniac covers).
PREPARATION
Use lint-free wipes and a specialist surface cleaner
designed for cleaning panels and recesses to prepare the
vehicle for signwriting.
For any wraps, it is best to arrange to have the
vehicle with you the day before application
so you can give it a thorough clean all over,
especially where you will be applying vinyl.
Large panel areas can be warmed quickly and effortlessly
using an infrared heater such as the Inferno – this will
make application easier and faster.
This will also allow the vehicle to acclimatise to
your vehicle bay and thoroughly dry out under
seals and other hard-to-reach areas overnight
after a thorough clean. Using a panel dryer such
as the Airdry 180 helps speed up the drying
process.
Always pay close attention to the manufacturer’s
instructions when installing vinyl.
